Academic Bicycle Challenge

 

Let’s make a difference at OVGU together—in June 2026, it’s time to cycle for ABC again!

The Academic Bicycle Challenge is taking place again this year, and under the motto “Moving OVGU Together,” we’ll be participating once more during the campaign month of June 2026.

As in previous years, the distances traveled will be tracked using the “Naviki” app. If you don’t yet have the app on your smartphone, you can download it from the App Store and sign up for the competition.

To give everyday cyclists a chance to make it onto the podium, there will be no traditional awards ceremony this year. All participants who reach the 333 km mark during the campaign period will automatically be entered into a drawing.

Following the ABC, we will then randomly select 10 winners.

For the team standings, however, the total number of kilometers covered will still be the deciding factor.

 

Kickoff-Event

For all avid cyclists, we’re hosting a kickoff event on June 1, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., featuring all kinds of booths centered around cycling.

This time, the TK Contrainer will be there (starting at 10:00 a.m.) and will offer free bike-fitting and bike-coaching sessions (registration necessary). 

Another highlight of the program will be the award ceremony for the Kiplin Challenge. Here, the baton will be symbolically handed over to the cyclists of ABC.
